RetroBar

RetroBar is a program that allows you to replace the modern Windows taskbar with a much more classic-looking one, transporting you back to the time of Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP or Windows Vista. All you need to use this small app, of course, is a more modern version of Windows (7, 8, 10 or 11).

Get it installation-free in just a few seconds

To start using RetroBar you just need to double-click on its .exe file, and the Windows bottom taskbar will instantly change into the classic Windows 95 bar. You won't have to install a thing. As soon as you do this, you'll see all the elements of the taskbar change: the Home button, the style of the folders, buttons, clock... Everything. Just like that, the bottom part of your PC will be transported back in time to the period of your choice.

Choose from many styles

Right-clicking on the Windows clock will take you to the RetroBar Options menu. From here you can choose the language you want for the taskbar (which is the language of the operating system by default), as well as the location (at the bottom by default) and the theme. You can choose between over a dozen different themes, since, in addition to the standard Windows XP and Windows Vista versions, you'll find many of their more popular variants, like the Vista Aero and Basic versions or the XP Olive Green and Royale Noir versions.

Very useful advanced options

In the Advanced Options tab in RetroBar, you'll find some very useful features. For example, you can have the program launch automatically with Windows. You can also adjust the size and scale of the taskbar, as many of the styles turn out quite small at modern resolutions. You can even make the bar appear on all monitors if you have several connected to your PC.
